That&#8217;s great news for anyone struggling with staying focused for a full three-hour test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-reading-section\">The Reading Section<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The reading section in the TOEFL test is getting shorter. Instead of 3-4 articles with a total of forty question, you&#8217;ll now only need to answer 20 questions about 2 articles &#8211; ten for each article. They&#8217;ll continue to use the same types of articles and question types, there just won&#8217;t be as many of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-listening-section\">The Listening Section<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The listening section in the TOEFL test is getting shorter too. From now on, it&#8217;ll have a standard 28 questions instead of the 28-39 questions that poor test-takers have had to face until now. The conversations and articles will still be the same, and the styles of the questions won&#8217;t change &#8211; just the predictability of how many you have to get through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-speaking-section\">The Speaking Section<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>TOEFL isn&#8217;t planning to make any changes to the speaking section. You&#8217;ll still be asked to justify your personal choice, analyze a campus announcement, summarize a reading and a lecture, and then summarize a lecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-writing-section\">The Writing Section<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>TOEFL is keeping the integrated writing question, but instead of an opinion essay, they&#8217;ll want you to write a discussion essay. That&#8217;s a little different, so make sure you familiarize yourself with the format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"no-break-and-no-unscored-questions\">No Break and No Unscored Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that the test is only two hours long, TOEFL is taking away the 10-minute break that they used to let you have after the listening section. That means you&#8217;ll need to be ready to go straight into the speaking section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re finally seeing the back of unscored questions.
